On this page are pdfs of some additional pieces which teachers are welcome to use freely with their ensembles, hope you enjoy them…
Similar level to the jazz and pop numbers towards the end of On The Face!, works best with four parts (i.e. a group with F/E Flat Horn or High Trombone/Euphonium as part of the ensemble). An optional percussion part is included.
Same level, works well with the three basic parts. If there is a strong tuba player use the alternative ending, otherwise play the short version Coda. An optional percussion part is included (a more advanced drummer might want to use brushes on the snare for this one). At the end of the pdf is a version for Trumpet solo with Piano accompaniment.
Same level, the middle section is a soli for horns and/or tuba (though an easier horn part is included for less experienced players). The alternative version at the end of the pdf is scored for one trumpet, two horns and trombone (Horn 1 is effectively the lead line in the main sections). An optional percussion part is included.
This Ragtime number is a feature for Tuba, doubled at the octave above by the First Horn (which can be omitted if desired). The Second Horn and Trombone parts are the same in the main section, the piece works best if at least one of these instruments is present. The tuba part is provided both with and without fingerings. At the end of the pdf is a version for Tuba solo with Piano accompaniment.
These two pieces are arranged for a slightly more advanced quartet of players comprising two Trumpets/Cornets, Horn and Trombone.
Arranged for a trio of two Trumpets/Cornets and one Trombone, intermediate level.
Finally (and perhaps a little outside the remit of the books), I've included the score and parts for this piece, which is for full wind band and needs good (ideally county level) players. It's only a couple of minutes long, but I think it makes a super feel-good closer/encore for a wind band concert.
